In a recent experiment to see if they could win back dormant Dragon City players, Social Point tested three messages to “wake up” these users–one with a general “come back” message, and two which included an offer for two different rewards. All three offers got a lift in activations, and the two freebie offers also caused users to spend more later on–in fact, 60% of users that spent after receiving the free offer did so for the first time! This one test alone gave Social Point a significant increase in revenues.
Also key to Social Point’s success in achieving high open rates is delivering messages in the user’s local time zone, which ensures that they can deliver offers at times when their users are most receptive to them. And since Dragon City has a diverse user base across both US and Europe, Social Point currently delivers localized messages in six languages (English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and German) in order to maximize open rates.
